The Lodge
The Lodge Apollonios Rodios, was named after Apollonius, librarian of Alexandria, grammar and epic poet. In spite of his birth between 295-290 BC. in Alexandria, where he also died in 215 BC, he became known by the nickname Rodius. During his long stay in Rhodes. probably completed his epic "Argonauts", where he describes the mythical Argonaut Campaign in four books and 5,835 hexameter verses.
Thus, our Lodge's name refers to the representation of the masonic journey by that of the Argonaut Campaign to the land of Light
The Lodge was established as Apollonios Rhodios No. 80, on the 1st of April 2006 by the National Great Lodge of Greece, in a Masonic Hall within the City of Rhodes
Following, on October 10, 2008 the establishment of the Masonry Chamber of the Holy Royal Arch "Apollonios Rhodios" No. 80, took place, under the Supreme Great Chamber of the of the Royal Arch Masons of Greece
